In the new retail landscape, the power of AI to extract value cannot be underestimated, and the global retail industry is recognizing this in many ways – not least, through its industry awards. Three respected UK organizations - the IGD, Retail Week, and Computing.co.uk –are all championing Blue Yonder’s achievements as examples of AI excellence in the market.
Innovation gets noticed when it drives results
We would not have made it onto these competitive shortlists without having presented ample evidence of delivering commercial results.
Blue Yonder Replenishment Optimization implementation with Morrisons, the UK grocery group, has been shortlisted for an IGD Supply Chain Innovation award, the winner of which will be announced at a gala evening on 3 October in central London.
For Morrisons, innovating its supply chain with Blue Yonder has been critical to growth. We delivered a fully automated ordering system across 26,000 SKUs in 491 stores, generating up to 30% reduction in shelf-gaps and two to three days‘ reduction in stockholding in-store.
Our light touch integration facilitated this transition, and enabled Morrisons to digitally transform its supply chain 12-18 months quicker than if the supermarket retailer had run the project in-house – without disrupting day-to- day business.
A nod to non-disruptive processes
The other two awards Blue Yonder has been nominated for reflect how our solutions are transforming multiple assets of modern retailing. Showcasing how cloud data science fuels facilitates accurate insight, we are proud to be a finalist in the Cloud Analytics Product of the Year category at the Computing Cloud Excellence Awards 2017 , taking place on 20 September in London.
We’re also delighted to be a finalist for the Tech Supplier of the Year category, in the Retail Week Tech.Awards, the outcome of which will be announced on 14 September.
What this hat-trick of nominates make clear is that Blue Yonder is catching the eye of judging panels in 2017, as more and more retailers recognize the value of AI in transforming their business.
These award nominations are a reflection of the millions of automated decisions that can empower the retail workforce. The outcome of AI investment is a reduction in back of store stock, the ability to move stock faster at the shelf, more products sold at full price, lower markdowns and reduce waste.
It’s exciting and rewarding to be recognized by the industry for this work, and we believe that celebrating this kind of profit-driving supply chain innovation can only benefit the wider retail community. We look forward to the awards ceremonies coming up over the next few weeks!
